Pentacles

Elemental Connection:  Earth:

The element of Earth connects you to your physical realm and everything this inhabits. 

As it relates to tarot:  Earth is your body and it’s mysterious and miraculous function; the abode you live in; the possessions that you own; the state of your wealth, or lack of; the job you do to make the money you need to maintain your physical world. When you lay the pentacle cards out, it tells a story of this aspect of your life, from the beginning, along with all the ups and downs we all go through with this process, to the stage of abundance and inheritance and success at the end (10). And the ten of aces is a success story, we all want a happy ending. We all want to attain a modecom of creature comforts and be able to take care of ourselves and our family. Pentacles is all about the journey to reach that point. They are the ultimate human struggle for survival.

Elemental Connection:  Air:

The element of Air is all about communication and how we relate mentally to the world around us. 

As it relates to tarot:  Air in swords tends to be filled with emotions and circumstances that are difficult, unpleasant, biting. Swords is not an easy suit; beginning with the Ace, which shouts with a defiant voice, opening a doorway to the taboo, through heartbreak, strife, anxiety, paranoia, and conflict on a variety of levels. Swords strips the genteel away leaving raw gaping human wounds of the mind laid bare and open for discovery and scrutiny.

The element of Fire is all about passion, passion in a constructive form, as well as cleansing and purging. 

As it relates to tarot:  Sometimes our passion is uncontrolled, resulting in helter-skelter energy and rash actions. The suit of wands embraces our passion, but tempers it with control and purpose, whether in the world of finance, or relationships, or in the world at large. Wands and its connection to Fire often burns off unnecessary clutter, making the way clear, making our path easier to tread, making a journey in new directions more visible and attainable to us.

As it relates to tarot:  The cups take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions as we journey through life and relationships along the way, from personal intimate connections, to the family at large, which is after all a mirror of who we are, where we came from, and how we got to this point. The cards of cups encompasses indecision, hard decisions, facing decisions, as well as the ultimate goal of reaching happiness in this area of our life.
